The History of the Inn
The Deerfield Valley Inn was built by John Davis in 1885 from
lumber worked in his waterwheel mill located across the street. It was
the last such home built in West Dover and the first guest inn in the Mount Snow area. The Inn
still has much of the original wax rubbed ash encasements and millwork. Over
the years new wings were added to the original building. You will find the Inn on the National Register of Historic Places.
The home was converted in 1952 into the first Inn
in the Mount Snow Area, at the same time as the original downhill trails were
opened. Many of the individually and tastefully decorated guestrooms have
their own wood burning fireplaces and sitting areas. All rooms have private
bathrooms, and cable TV. The living room of the Inn invites you to relax and
enjoy the comforts of true Southern Vermont
hospitality.
A full country breakfast and a light afternoon tea are served daily.
Many excellent restaurants located nearby offer both casual and fine dining.
