This policy explains what personal information Ozvermont LLC collects through its websites and its booking service, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Ozvermont LLC is a Vermont limited liability company ("we", "us"). We do business as Deerfield Valley Inn, a bed and breakfast in West Dover, Vermont, and as Paradise Vermont, a private chalet in Winhall, Vermont. Our address is 120 VT Route 100, West Dover, VT 05356. Ozvermont LLC is responsible for the personal information described here.
This policy covers:
Our websites, www.deerfieldvalleyinn.com and www.paradisevermont.com. The same policy appears on both.
Our booking service at api.deerfieldvalleyinn.com, which lets AI assistants book stays at both properties for their users.
Privacy contact: info@deerfieldvalleyinn.com for the inn, and info@paradisevermont.com for the chalet.
The websites
Newsletter
If you join the newsletter on either website, we store your email address with our email marketing provider.
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.
The newsletter is separate from our guest contact list, which is described under The booking service.
Paradise Vermont contact form
The form collects your first and last name, email, phone number and message.
Our email delivery provider sends your message to our inbox. We use it to reply to you.
If you contact us through a website form, we may add your email to our newsletter list for future emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Chat helper
Both websites have a chat helper. It answers common questions from a fixed list of answers. It is not an AI assistant.
On deerfieldvalleyinn.com, your question goes to our web server, which picks the answer. On paradisevermont.com, the answer is picked in your browser. We do not store the conversation.
If the chat helper has no answer, it sends the text of your question to Google Analytics, so we can add better answers. Please do not type personal information in the chat.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and collects details such as pages viewed, device and browser, approximate location and how you found us. We do not use it to identify you.
These are the only cookies we set. The Google map on the Paradise Vermont Area page may set Google's own cookies. The websites work fully if you block cookies in your browser.
To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Technical information
Our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the websites and protect them from abuse.
On paradisevermont.com, the fonts load from Google's font service, which also receives your IP address. The Deerfield Valley Inn website serves its own fonts.
The Area page on paradisevermont.com shows a map from Google Maps. Google receives your IP address when the map loads.
Some photos and videos on both websites load from other websites, such as our partners' websites. Those websites receive your IP address when the photo or video loads.
The weather and snow forecasts on deerfieldvalleyinn.com load from two weather services. They receive your IP address, but none of the information you give us.
Bookings made elsewhere
The booking links on deerfieldvalleyinn.com open the online booking page of our reservation system. It collects the details you enter there to make your booking, and we handle them under this policy.
If you book through a travel platform, the platform shares your booking details with us, and we handle them under this policy. The platform's own privacy policy covers what it keeps.
The booking service
Registration and sign-in
To book, you register with your first name, last name, email address and phone number.
There are no passwords. We email you a one-time sign-in code. The code works for 10 minutes. A correct code opens a session that lasts 24 hours.
Sign-in codes come from bookings@deerfieldvalleyinn.com, for both properties.
Bookings and payments
We keep a record of each booking: the property, room, dates, number of guests and pets, prices, payment method, payments received and status.
Booking emails come from the property you booked: bookings@deerfieldvalleyinn.com for the inn, or bookings@paradisevermont.com for the chalet.
Card payments go through Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe privacy policy.
Bank transfers must come from a bank in the United States. We match each transfer to your booking, and we see the sender's name and bank details that our bank shows us.
We copy your name and dates into our reservation system, so the dates are held for you and cannot be booked twice.
Guest contact list
When you confirm your email with the sign-in code, we add your name, email address and phone number to our guest contact list, which our email marketing provider keeps for us.
We use this list only to contact you about your bookings. We never use it for newsletters or marketing.
AI assistants
When you use an AI assistant (for example, Meta's Muse) to book, the assistant sends us your information on your behalf and receives our replies, including your booking details.
What the assistant keeps is governed by the assistant provider's own privacy policy, not this one.
Who we share with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with:
Our payment processor, Stripe, to take card payments and make refunds.
